my small project
shadowbox collections
![]()
I have the pleasure of showing you what to do with all those little goodies that your little one collects outside during the nice weather.
what you will need:
-a small box (I used a cigar box that can be found at any smoke/cigar shop)
-found objects - branches, rocks/pebbles, buttons small containers/jars etc.
-photocopy of a map or any interesting linear image
-paper and markers (I am also including a PDF of the birds used in this box)
-scissors, hot glue, glue stick
step one:
take the box and cover the inside with the map imagery - you can use a glue stick to adhere the paper to the box
step two:
start arranging the objects in the box using hot glue - for this box I started with found branches and the rock. I like to collect the glass juice bottles. I like leaving the bottle transparent to see the goodies, but it can be painted or covered with paper.
step three:
I made little flowers by taking found buttons and glued them to toothpicks and also made little tissue flowers to be glued on the branches - leaves would be nice too.
step four:
I did a drawing of a couple of birds and coloured them in with markers, cut them out and pirched them in the box. When downloading the PDF printing the image on cardstock would be a good idea.
once finished - as an option you can glue a hanger on the back - hang it on your wall and enjoy!
